Review: Kiss and Blog

Kiss and Blog
What's the best revenge when your best friend ditches you for the popular crowd? Alyson Noël reveals all in her hot new young adult novel.
As freshmen at Ocean High last year, Winter and her best friend Sloane thought they could ditch their nerdy past, launching from invisible to cool. But after another miserable year of standing on the sidelines they make a pact to do whatever it takes not to go unnoticed in their sophomore year, promising each other that whoever makes it into the cool group first will bring the other along.
Once Sloane gets a taste of life on the A-list, she slams that door in Winter's face. Suddenly cast out of her former best friend's life, Winter takes revenge the modern way: by announcing all of Sloane's dirty little secrets on an anonymous blog. Then the blog becomes more popular than she ever dreamed and Winter must decide if her retaliation is really worth the consequences- and if the price for popularity is one she's willing to pay. Once again, Alyson Noël navigates the tricky waters of the high school social scene with the heart and humor her readers have come to love.

My Thoughts:

In one word this book is FUN!
It's a light novel that reminded me of Teen Idol (Meg Cabot ) a little bit.In case you didn't know I LOVE me Cabot! This was the perfect pick me up that I needed to get out of my reading slump.

This is the first Alyson Noel novel I've read. Technically this is the first novel I have finished.I tried reading Evermore but I left it midway as it wasn't really holding my interest and the insta-obsession was getting on my nerves a little. This book gives me hope in Ms.Noel's writing capabilities.I'm definitely going to give more of her books a chance.

The focus of the book is not blogging so if my fellow bloggers want to pick up this novel so that they can read about a funny blogger than I'd advise you to look elsewhere.

Winter's been burned by her best friend and she wants revenge. So she starts blogging her ex-best friend's deepest darkest secrets anonymously of course.

This book focuses on character development and there is a lesson to be learnt but the author is not preachy and let's us come to our own conclusions about the message.

My main problem with this book was the romance. It could have been so much better but it was just confusing.Does she really like him or not? Does HE really like her or not? These answers to these questions were not satisfactory(in my opinion)

Aside from that if you're looking for a fun ,light read with some really hilarious  embarrassing blog posts don't hesitate to grab this novel. Recommended for people looking for a Meg Cabot type novel.

My Rating:
3.5/5

Great Pick me up

  1. Good review! I have to keep the light/fun books stock-piled. There are only so many intense paranormal novels a gal can read before she has to take a break!

  2. This is a must-read! I love Cabot and if this is anything like what she writes, I think I will love it. And it is about blogging, which makes it double cool! And sometimes, a FUN read is just what the doctor ordered!
